I did something very very dumb, I trimmed my eyelashes and now I’m crying :( . I found your blog with the hopes of finding a quick fix….I’m desperate, but relieved to know that my eyelashes will grow back. Though not fast enough for my liking. Anyone reading this Please don’t make the same mistake and ruin the eyelashes you have. You will regret it…

      Hi sohbet
Oh No! You didn’t do such a thing, did you? There is no fast fix for cut eyelashes. You will have to wait the growing time out, till they even out. Valuable lessen to be learned here…..Do not cut / trim your eyelashes. If for some reason you think they need to be trimmed / cut / shaped, please go to a specialist.

      Best of luck to you.

‘Thank you for this blog. I’m having eyelash problems, they seem to be thinning out, not sure if it’s caused by my current eyelash products, I’ve been using or not. Some great tips you have shared and a few I’m gonna try out. I love my natural eyelashes and any tips that may help are much appreciated :)

      Hello moncler,
Most important thing…clean any eyelash product off your lashes each and every night. Simple to do and adds up to major prevention of lash loss. Plus give your eyelashes a break every so often from mascara type products, let’em breath.

      Thank you for visiting.

      Hi mascara,
      Thank you for your comment.
You may want to make sure to remove all makeup before bedtime. I know sometimes it’s a pain, but it needs to be done, you have to find time to do it. We all get lazy here and there :)

Yes your eyelashes will grow back, but you also have to do your part to help keep those lashes long, thick and healthy.

      Hello Adele,
Sorry you are upset right now :(
Yes eyelashes do grow back, just have to have some patience. Lashes are not the fastest growing hairs. I hope you can get that picking under control, or it turns into a unhappy cycle of eyelash loss.

Thank you for taking the time to comment, nice to have you visiting… :)

Just like wearing fake nails, the real nails underneath tend to be thin and weak. Remove and groom them…..they will grow back. :)

I woke up in the middle of the night yesterday and my eye was hurting. I thought it may have had something to do with my eyelashes and I tugged on a few of them and they came about. My mother told me that they don’t grow back and I was freaking out until I stumbled upon this website while surfing the net. I am so relieved to know that they do actually grow back, unfortunatly much slower then I had hoped. Any tips?

      April 30, 2012 | 12:49 pm

      Hi accident
They will grow, I’m sure of it, just give it time.
Next time more attention is needed when using an eyelash curler. Here are a few that will prevent eyelash loss.
      1. Clean curler
      2. Curl before applying mascara
      3. Warm eyelash curler slightly with blow dryer before using
      4. Pull eyelash curler away from eyes very slowly each time

These are basic tips to remember, but easily forgotten when one is in a hurry while beautifying. Hahaha beautifying, is that even a word??

Thank you for your taken the time to write in :)

I’ve been using mascara for over a year now and never had this problem before, i’m scared that my eye lashes wont grow back! I’ve been using this eye makeup remover and from that time my eyelashes keep falling out, they still sadly are, isit true vaseline helps your eye lashes? can i use vaseline as my eye makeup remover? Please help and give me some tips and I cant stop using mascara because at school i always use it and it’ll be very awkward if i came here without makeup. hope you’ll understand

    Thank you :)

      May 16, 2012 | 11:35 am

      Hi Tanya
First don’t worry yourself, eyelashes will grow back. Yes, Vaseline is wonderful for your eyelashes, it aids in keeping the lashes moist and brittle free. As you are experiencing makeup remover tends to be harsh. May I ask, what kind of makeup remover are you using?

Here are a couple suggestions to try in helping remove eyelash mascara, in addition to Vaseline.
      1. Baby oil
      2. Olive oil

Just dab a small amount on a cotton ball and gently wipe away the mascara. Your eyelashes will love you for it :)

Thank you so much for the reply :D I’ve been using this

‘Garnier Simply Essentials Soothing eye make-up remover’

it’s in a blue bottle, i stopped using it and then went to boots and bought this
‘Johnson’s face care gentle eye make-up remover’

this also made me eyelashes fall out a lot, it has a pink lid… Also, I bought this purple ‘Maybelline the falsies volum’ express mascara’ couple of months ago and from that time my eyelashes started to fall out a lot so i stopped using it and i typed in ‘why do eyelashes fall out?’ on youtube and can across this video now i agree with this video and stopped using it right away because my eye lashes fell out from the mascara as well. I bought this other Mascara called ‘VolumeFlash Scandaleyes Mascara Rimmel London’ and it didn’t help. Bought another mascara called ‘False Lash Effect MaxFactor mascara’ it’s black and purple and it also didn’t work… It seems to be a good mascara but i used it like twice and nothing helped my eyelashes still fell out I went back to my old Mascara called ‘Volume Flash The Max Bold Curves Rimmel London’ its green and a bit pink and so i’m using this one for a couple of days now and less fall out but they still fall out, i stopped using eye make-up remover and now kind of started to use Vaseline but i dont really know how to apply it and if it really will work because i tried removing my mascara with vaseline and it barely came off and 2 of my lashes fell out and today i washed my whole face with my face-wash then used these ‘Garnier Skin Naturals Soft Essentials Rose extract + Vitamin E Vitamin-enriched cleaning wipes Remove make-up and hydrate’ it’s pink and a bit white, i’ve started using that yesterday but what i mostly would like to know is if im using the right mascara and how do you actually remove mascara because the way i remove it, my eyelashes always tend to fall out for some reason. i lost a lot of my lashes and i really hope they grow back as soon as possible :’(

    Hi Tanya
    Welcome back :)

Wow, you sure are having no luck at all with mascara are you? I find it kind of odd why so many products are causing you eyelashes to fall out. This is something you really need to dig into for the reason as why?

I have plans on adding much more content on different mascara in the very near future. Your post gave me some good ideas to think about, while creating content.

That video was interesting and scary at the same time. I’m gonna do more research on it. I like to see how this lady fared in the end. Was it truth or lie? You know how some people can be.

Are you sure eyelashes are actually coming off? Now I’m just asking this because some brands have a tubing affect, meaning the mascara forms around the eyelash like a tube. When removing it can certainly look as if these are eyelashes, when it’s really the mascara.

My way is a hot shower at the end of the day, gentle baby shampoo, but first using wipes or my favorite skin lotion (St.Ives) comes right off.

Eyelashes will grow back, but if you are having so much lash lose….might want to think of giving it a break for awhile.

I haven’t got a clue why my eyelashes keep falling out and no it’s actually my lashes that fall out and right now they’re thinner than ever. i am worried that my lashes wont grow back i dont know what to do with them, i lost a lot of my hair as well, im having hair loss and now eye lashes, i was crying a lot because im only 14 and i dont want to be bald or without eyelashes when i’ll be older, i think i ruined myself already. It’ll be very awkward if i went school without make-up it jst wont feel right…. and i took a shower normally and my eyelashes fell out as well :’( i dont know what to do :(

Something is going on, if you are losing this much hair. I think, if you have not already done so, is to talk with your mom. Tell her what is happening, show her, tell her your concerns. Mothers always know best at times like these.

I have constantly been picking at my eyelashes and I hate myself for it!
All the time someone says to me “what happens to ur eyelashes” and then I
Feel like crying!!! I wish they would hurry up and grow back, so people will stop asking me about it!! ;(

    • admin
      May 24, 2012 | 1:01 am

      Hi Cookie
Hey, instead of hating yourself, try and focus your energy on the picking. You already know you pick, there is no need to hate and make things even worse. If you’re gonna do any hating, hate the act of picking. What I’m trying to say here, accept the fact you are a picker, once you can do that, then it’s time to figure out a way to stop picking your eyelashes.

I don’t understand some people, how can they not figure out questions of that kind can be very insensitive and hurtful. I wish people would think before opening their mouths, but it doesn’t always work that way. Sorry you are feeling bad :(

Eyelashes will grow back, just have to be patient, I promise they will…

I really hope you can find a solution, and willpower to stop the picking. I understand that is easier said then done.

Wishing you the very best :)

Do u have any suggestions on how to stop picking?

        • admin
          May 25, 2012 | 12:46 am

          Hi Cookie
May, I ask you a couple questions? If you want to answer fine, if not I understand.

          1. How long have you been picking?
          2. Eyelashes the only area you pick at? Scalp?
          3. What have you done to try and stop?
          4. Diagnosed with??? OCD?
          5. Been to a doctor for this?
          6. Age group?

I believe it will come down to “breaking a habit” and “habits” are breakable, depending how bad one wants to stop. It might not be easy, and will take work, but with determination it can be done.

Do you pick because of boredom? or is it nervousness? Maybe stressed out? These are the area you need to identify and start progressing from there to end the picking.

Omg!!! My eyelashes have all completly fell out! What shall I do? They haven’t grown back and they fell out over 6 months ago! I am seriously going to have a breakdown! Please helppp :(

  18. admin
    June 1, 2012 | 12:42 pm

    Hello Trina
It has been 6 months and no new re-growth? This is unusual as it is natural to lose eyelashes and as this happens new ones will begin to grow. May I ask, how did your eyelashes fall out? Makeup? Use of an Eyelash curler?

If they are just falling out for no apparent reason, there could be a health concern, commonly ones diet.

If they fell out because of your makeup practices, which is quite common as eyelashes do tend to take a beaten if not cared for properly. It might be time to take a break and spend more time going natural. let the eyelashes recoup while paying attention to more of a health care regime.

Sadly my eyelashes are still falling out :( right now i have a week holidays so i wont be putting on no make up (y) do fake eyelashes pull out your real lashes? Please help me how i can grow my eye lashes back, vaseline does not help at all :(

    • admin
      June 3, 2012 | 6:17 pm

      Hi Tanya
Nope fake eyelashes will not pull your real eyelashes out as long as you remove them correctly. Just follow along with the instruction and you will be fine. If just leaving the lashes alone is not an option….then the fake ones might be worth the try.

    Hello there…
    I really enjoyed ur blog
    But a simple question remaind
You adviced us to use the eye curler, but its usually said theyre harmfull
So is that per case? Or using an eye curler is a “good habbit” just like drinking water?

    • admin
      June 9, 2012 | 11:32 am

      Hi Adeleh
Thank you for visiting, and I’m happy you enjoyed reading my blog :)

You are so correct, eyelash curlers can do more harm then good. Is it a “Good Habit?” This all depends, if one is very experienced using it, and in moderation….it should be harmless. So many eyelashes have become victims to improper use, that many have sworn to never use them. If you can do without an eyelash curler, the better off your lashes will be.

I was relieved to read your blog.
I had my eyelash extension and admittedly, it felt wonderful and my friends/colleagues have never been jealous. Then 2 days ago, I don’t know what came to me and started pulling the extension and my original lashes came with it. :( maybe i did that because i am having trouble maintaining it myself and having the extension repaired every 2 weeks cost me much of money. Now I barely have original lashes. :( Im very very sad especially when people ask me what happen every now and then. :( I hope it will really grow back because they tell me it will only grow if it naturally fell off. They said it will not grow since I picked it intentionally. :(

      Hi Scarlet Moon

      I like that name :)
So many people give out bad information. Why would they not grow back if you did pull them out? What seems to happen, people start to panic and scramble for ways to have full eyelashes, with this comes problems. They try this method, then that method, this is bad…..why not just stop doing anything for a while, and give your eyelashes a chance to grow on their own?

Please help i use to have super long cury lashes and i wanted them to be longer. So I looked on line and saw one post that if you cut your eyelashes they will grow back longer. So I cut them! They look like crap! So I looked on line again to see if it was true and how long it would would take to grow back. Everyone said no it does not make it grow back longer. Please how can I grow them back super fast

      Hey Dumb,

Oh no, you cut them :(
I see these post on the internet about cutting eyelashes for thicker, longer growth and I’m horrified that anyone would recommend this….simply terrible.

Growing back eyelashes super fast, sorry not gonna happen….it will take a little time, but they will.

At this point, and I don’t know how short you did cut them….maybe a thick eyelash mascara could help hide the damage? Maybe extensions could help.

    June 26, 2012 | 9:07 pm

The past few mornings i touched my eyelashes and like 2 came out. I tend to get obsessed with things and I keep looking up things about eyelashes. My lashes don’t look sparse so I don’t think it is a major issue. Is this normal? Just one question, I have been using vaseline and does that make them fall out more???? Does making eyelashes stronger prevent them from falling out as easily?

    • admin
      June 27, 2012 | 10:57 am

      Hey Nervous Ninny

Eyelashes do shed off from time to time, and this is a natural occurrence, nothing to be alarmed about it’s just a normal body function. Your lashes are not sparse, this is wonderful so don’t over react, doing so may cause you more problems…..

Using vaseline will not be the cause of a few eyelashes shedding, what will, applying the vaseline roughly, don’t tug too hard on the eyelashes, be soft and gentle as you apply the vaseline.

Yes, vaseline will aid in preventing eyelashes from falling out, what it does
is help the eyelashes from being brittle. Brittle lashes can and do break very easily.

So don’t stress, stop being nervous….Have a great day :)

Hi I try to put eyelash extension in salon but because of the super thick glue they use on.. my eyelid became itchy so i go the salon decide to remove the extension but then my eyelash became thin, shorter and worst half of it lost. i have a beautiful natural eyelash in past but now i think i had bald eyelash huhuhuhu.. can you suggest how to grow it back fast i became ugly so sad. And i’m thinking if i will put a fake eyelash so that i will have prety eyelash please help me give me advice.. :(

      July 2, 2012 | 12:58 pm

      Hey pretty angel

You’re one of the lucky ones…. blessed with beautiful natural eyelashes :) Only if we were all so lucky….

The good, you have it in your genes to grow beautiful lashes, so without a doubt over time you will have them again…..The bad, it takes time to re-grow, it’s not a fast process, each of our bodies are different….so there is no set time to give. Have patience, stay away from crazy products and procedures, let nature do its thing.

You could try fake eyelashes during the re-growth time, just follow all directions to the “T” and you won’t have to worry about losing more.

      Best of luck :)

    Hiya Ale

First let me apologize for the delay in publishing / answering your comment, we been in a middle of a nasty heat wave, had to take time a little time off to cool down.

If your eyelashes started to thin or shedding since using your make-up remover, it might be wise to find a more gentle approach. You said it yourself, a few months ago they were in better shape. Your current remover could be the prime suspect.

Try change to something new and addition, each night gentle apply some Vaseline to help condition those eyelashes…

Good luck …now get those healthy eyelashes back :)

    Hi Mariam Dib

Welcome to my site and thank you for backing up the use of Vaseline on eyelashes. It can work wonders :)

    Hi Miss J

Falling eyelashes from removal of fake ones sometimes tends to be the nature of the game. It comes down to how skilled the person is doing the removal, and putting ones faith in another hands can have drastic outcomes at times.

Now, I never heard of castor oil use to stimulate hair follicle growth, so I did do my own little investigation. Some women say “yes”, some say “no.” I could not find any supporting “biologically” evidence supporting it. Not discouraging the use of it, but not supporting it either. It could never hurt to do your own little experiment and find out for yourself.

If your eyelash loss is adding up, and you do see noticeable thinning, take a break from the fakes. Give the eyelashes a break, and some time to regenerate new growth. Spend some time caring for the real ones, which will pay off in the long run.

Best of luck and thank you for posting :)
